Position Title: PTSA Social Media Intern

 

 

Start Date: Summer 2025

Time Commitment: Flexible hours in summer; light weekly commitment during the school year

 

Location: Remote, with optional in-person collaboration

 

Eligibility: WHS students

 

Overview:

The WHS PTSA is looking for a creative, motivated student interns to help lead our social media presence! This is an exciting opportunity to shape how we connect with the WHS community across platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

 

You and other interns will help design content, plan strategy, source stories, and bring a consistent, engaging voice to our PTSA communications. Over the summer, you’ll help us build a strong foundation—and during the school year, you’ll help keep it running smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help design and implement a social media content calendar for the school year
  • Use tools like Canva to design engaging posts and stories
  • Work with PTSA board members to brainstorm creative campaigns and highlight-worthy content
  • Source content and photos from school events, student achievements, and key dates
  • Build out simple templates and posting processes over the summer for smooth, consistent execution
  • Optional: Attend events or monitor PTSA activities to help capture or create content

 

Skills You’ll Gain:

  • Experience in content strategy, design, and digital communication
  • Project management and planning skills
  • Real-world experience collaborating with a team

 

You’d Be Great If You:

  • Are creative, detail-oriented, and love storytelling
  • Enjoy using Canva, Instagram, ChatGPT, and social platforms
  • Have strong written communication skills
  • Are organized and excited to build processes and plans
  • Bonus: experience with photo editing, graphic design, Reels/TikTok editing, or data tracking—but not required!
