PRESIDENT or CO-PRESIDENT

We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to step forward and take on this important leadership role within our organization. This position plays a vital role in our school community, leading and coordinating efforts to support our students, teachers, and families.

Role Responsibilities:

As President/Co-President of WHS PTSA, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the direction of our organization and representing the interests of our members. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the PTSA in alignment with its mission and goals.
  • Collaborating with school administration, teachers, and parents to support the educational goals of our school.
  • Preside over PTSA meetings and work closely with other Board of Directors and committee chairs to plan and execute programs, events, and fundraisers.
  • Representing the PTSA at school meetings, district events, and community gatherings.
  • Serving as a liaison between the PTSA and parents/guardians to ensure effective communication and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment within the PTSA and encourage student, parent and teacher involvement.

Communications Chair

Do you enjoy creating effective communication and enhancing parent-teacher engagement? Do you have a knack for creativity and a desire to make a positive impact in our school community? If so, we invite you to apply for the role of PTSA Communications Chair.

By serving as the PTSA Communications Chair, you'll have the opportunity to play a vital role in strengthening communication within our school community and supporting the work of the PTSA. We look forward to welcoming a dedicated individual to our team!

 

Newsletter

Seeking Two PTSA Weekly Warrior Newsletter Editors: Join Us in Keeping Our Community Informed!

Is being up to date about school happenings important to you? Do you see the value in keeping parents, teachers, and the wider school community up-to-date with the latest news and events? Do you have a flair for writing, editing, and design? If so, we invite you to apply for the positions of PTSA Newsletter Editors.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create, and distribute the PTSA newsletter on a regular basis to keep parents, teachers, and staff updated on PTSA activities, events, volunteer opportunities, and important school news.
  • Gather information and content from PTSA board members, committee chairs, school administrators, and other relevant sources to include in the newsletter.
  • Write compelling and informative articles, announcements, and features that highlight the achievements, initiatives, and upcoming events of the PTSA and the school community.
  • Coordinate with the Communications Chair and other PTSA volunteers to ensure timely delivery of newsletter content and adherence to established deadlines.
  • Write, edit, and proofread newsletter articles and content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in style and tone.
  • Design and layout the newsletter using desktop publishing software or online tools, incorporating graphics, photos, and other visual elements to enhance readability and engagement.

The Cave

Join Our Team as a PTSA Meditation Room Co-Chairs: Help Create a Space for Wellness and Mindfulness!

Are you motivated about promoting wellness and mindfulness within our school community? Do you believe in the power of meditation to support the well-being of students and staff? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of PTSA Meditation Room Co-Chair.

 

New Family Liaison Chair

As the New Families Liaison Chair, you have the rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the experiences of newcomers as they join our community. By providing guidance, support, and connections, you play a vital role in ensuring that new families feel welcomed, informed, and empowered to engage fully in the school and PTSA missions and activities.

 

Beautification Chair(s)

The Beautification Chair is responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and environmental quality of our the school’s physical spaces. This role plays a crucial part in creating a welcoming and visually appealing atmosphere that promotes positivity, pride, and a sense of belonging among members and visitors.

 

Meditation Room
 

The Cave is a safe place for students and faculty to utilize during free time to meditate, regulate, or to just take some quiet time.   This room is not possible without parent volunteers.

Volunteers can sign up here

 

We ask our volunteers, to please sign up for as many slots as they feel comfortable with: once, two times a month, weekly, or more.  We have put time slots down that coincide with the block schedule - you are welcome to sign up for several time slots in a row if that works better for you.

 

We will have an orientation on the first day that you signed up. We will show you the room, go over some guidelines for The Cave, and answer any questions you might have.
